1960s Vintage Signed Sphinx Peacock Enamel & Crystal Brooch

About Sphinx Jewellery The Sphinx Company where renowned for making quality costume jewellery which was founded by S. Root in 1948 in Cheswick, England. The jewellery produced was of high quality construction, beautifully designed, and had the look of real jewellery. Sphinx produced jewellery for Kenneth Jay Lane, Butler & Wilson, Saks 5th Ave, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales, and other department stores. Some jewellery was unsigned for customers who wanted to sell the pieces with their own branding. However Queenie’s Bazaar only sells fully signed Sphinx jewellery with the signature clear in an oval cartouche, which makes the pieces very sort after among collectors.
